REASONS #1 and 2 (in chronological order, not of importance): 1) These two meals, one in mid-November, the next in mid-December; 2) Fuzzy picture with major implications

My tray of food from the Geneva Wild Game Feed in December, 2010. Included: Rabbit, Gooseneck, Alligator, Venison, Duck, Frog legs, dinner roll. I was a member of the Clean Plate Club that day.
My tray from Oklahoma Joe's Barbeque joint in Kansas City in mid-November. I can't require the exact name of the meal, but it included the word "Cowboy," which I'm guessing, was meant to help denote its man-sized portions. I couldn't quite house this entire meal, although I gave it a cowboy-worthy attempt.

These two meals played a part in my decision to eat less in 2011 than I did in 2010. They represent many years of overindulgence at the dinner table (and the breakfast and lunch tables). But these two meals alone could not alone bring about a lifestyle change. It took the following picture to fully develop the idea of the 100,000 calorie blog, which (guess this is as good a time as any for introductions) is my way of tracking my inexact progress of cutting 100,000 calories from my life from 2010 to 2011.

If it looks the same to you as it does to me, then it looks like nothing, but a nurse rubbing my wife's belly told us it was twin babies in there. I didn't believe her, but then she titled the Screen Capture as "2 BABIES!" and so I was forced to believe her.

The hope is that in this inexact, non-scientific look at calorie cutting, I will be more healthy and able to live longer, and in living longer be a better father to "2 BABIES!"

So tomorrow is Jan. 1, 2011. I know, I know. What a cliche day to begin a life change. New Year's Resolutions, blah, blah, blah. I'm proud to say I have yet (except for in the above line) not referenced this project as a resolution of a new year. It's just that the holidays is such a hard time to avoid thousands of calories. Also cliche, I know.

But this is my way of recording what I learn about the idea of changing my eating habits and adding back into my life a thing known as exercise. To do that, first of all, I'm going to need to cut down on my computer time. So that's why I'm ending this blog now.

Actually, I'm ending this blog now so as to not be late for a New Year's party, where I'll surely injest thousands more calories. But I'll update this again tomorrow, and hopefully a couple times weekly after that.

But for now, let me say I am excited to get healthy for babies A and B, and to let them know they're names will not always be so cliche.
